Commissioner Fox Tours Phillipsburg

On Tuesday, June 25, 2002, NJ Department of Transportation Commissioner, James P. Fox toured Phillipsburg, NJ, the future Transportation Heritage Center site and related storage locations. The visit began at town hall where the model of the Heritage Center built by Ken and Ann Miller was viewed. Legislative Liaison, Sharon Shinkle Gardner and Special Assistant Patrick O’Reilly accompanied Fox. The tour group also included:

  • Assemblyman Alex DeCroce the arranger
  • Mike Perrucci representing former governor, Jim Florio
  • Matt Stanton strategy Group Inc. (formerly NJ Transit Chief of Staff)
  • Mayor Harry Wyatt host and provider of the van & chauffeur
  • Ken Miller and Bill McKelvey representing Friends.

Four quick tour stops were made:

  • The Pump House
  • The CNJ/DL&W station
  • The Tippet & Wood/SMP property
  • The storage lot off South Main Street

We hope the orientation tour improved awareness, promoted understanding and will foster cooperation in the future among attendees.
