A New Roof for Phillipsburg, NJ's Union Station in 2007

The Phillipsburg Union Station was re-roofed back to its original condition with slate by the Friends of the New Jersey Transportation Heritage Center in fall of 2007. The installation of the slate shingles was funded by a grant from the WARREN COUNTY MUNICIPAL & CHARITABLE CONSERVANCY TRUST FUND.

Phillipsburg Union Station served the Jersey Central and DL&W railroad lines as they conveyed just short of the Delaware River at Phillipsburg, NJ.

On a cold rainy Saturday, October 27, 2007 the workman have taken a break from the re-roofing of the Phillipsburg Union Station. the roof crew worked whenever the weather permitted to complete the job as quickly as possible. Picture is taken from Main Street looking at what would be the North side of the building. This street-side view of the roofing project shows the scaffolding used to move the workman up the steeply pitched roof as the re-roofing was completed.
